NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Super Review

4070 super surfaces

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Super, a mid-range graphics card, has been making waves in the gaming community with its impressive performance and features. This review will delve into the specifics of this graphics card, its performance, and its pricing in India.

Here are my 2 cents on the 4070 Super as promised before

The RTX 4070 Super is the first GPU released in the new “Super” series refresh. It uses the same AD104 silicon as the other 4070 series products, but with significantly more silicon enabled when compared to the standard 4070. There’s a 22% increase in CUDA cores, only 7% less than the Ti model. It also shares the same 48 MB L2 cache as the Ti. Like the RTX 4070 and 4070 Ti, it employs a 192-bit wide memory bus, using 12GB of 21Gbps GDDR6X memory for a bandwidth of 504 GB/s.

RTX 4070 Super Performance Overview

Based on these specifications, the new Super should be ~20% faster than the 4070, at the same price, which sounds like a solid deal. However, it still only offers 12 GB of memory, which is a bit stiff at the $600 price point. Nonetheless, overall performance should be significantly improved1. The enhanced performance should also help the RTX 4070 Super better compete with the more affordable Radeon RX 7800 XT.

Tech Jesus On 4070 Super

In terms of performance, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Super is about as solid a graphics card as you’ll find in the midrange, offering fantastic gaming performance, while outshining the competition in non-gaming tasks like content creation and compute-heavy workloads.

Daniel Owen takes on the early bird.

Daniel’s video has generated a lot of discussion and positive feedback. Viewers appreciate the detailed and relevant information, especially the performance benchmarks. Comparisons between different GPUs are found to help decide whether to upgrade their current models.

An interesting point raised is about the potential increase in CPU load when upgrading the GPU. This is something that could be addressed in future videos to provide a more comprehensive view of system performance after a GPU upgrade.

Viewers also appreciated the clarification on frame timing and stutter. This kind of detailed explanation helps viewers understand the technical aspects of GPU performance better.

Overall, the video seems well-received, with viewers finding the content informative and useful. They look forward to more such content, including potential reviews of other GPUs.

RTX 4070 Super Overclocking Potential

Taking data from the Techpowerup website, the Palit GeForce RTX 4070 Super JetStream OC stands out for its overclocking capabilities. This premium version of the RTX 4070 Super is equipped with a robust triple-slot, triple-fan cooling solution, and a significant factory overclock.

The rated boost has increased from the Founders Edition’s 2475 MHz to a whopping 2640 MHz, translating to a +165 MHz or +6.7% increase. This overclocking, coupled with the superior cooling solution, enables the Palit GeForce RTX 4070 Super JetStream OC to outperform the NVIDIA Founders Edition in terms of both performance and temperature management. The factory overclock and the increased power limit of the card to 245 W, compared to the 220 W reference, further enhanced its performance. These features position the Palit GeForce RTX 4070 Super JetStream OC as a compelling choice for those seeking top-tier overclocking potential.

RTX 4070 Super Pricing in India

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Super is priced at Rs. 62,000 in India. This pricing makes it a competitive option for gamers looking for a high-performance graphics card without breaking the bank. Please note that partner cards carry a higher price tag due to the quality of VRMs, heatsinks, and components used in them. However, this doesn’t mean that the base variant is subpar. It gets the job done. If you don’t plan to push the GPU hard, which you shouldn’t, the base variant is more than sufficient. This is particularly true for the ADA Lovelace, which has an unreal power-to-performance ratio when undervolted correctly.
