CS2 Gets a Big Update: cl_newbob, FPS metrics, Anti-cheat update, and more

The latest update to CS2 has brought a plethora of changes that have significantly improved the gaming experience. This article will delve into the details of these changes and their impact on the game.

Valve might take VAC (Valve allows cheat) seriously, this time, as it seems.

CS2 Telemetry: A New In-Game Settings Menu

CS2 Telemetry Update

One of the most notable additions in this update is the in-game setting menu called ‘Telemetry’. This new feature replaces the previously discussed CQ net graph and CQ net graph problem shown. Instead, players can now use the CL HUD Telemetry server CV margin show graph. This new feature allows players to display their frame time, ping, or packet loss, among other extras, enhancing their in-game experience by providing real-time performance metrics.

Sniper Scope Fixes and Performance Improvements

The update also includes multiple animation fixes, with a particular focus on the sniper scope. These improvements, which ESL also pointed out, have resulted in a smoother and more immersive gaming experience.

Revamped Reporting System

To streamline the reporting process, the update has introduced changes to the reporting system. Players can now only report someone for one of the selected problems, such as wall hacking or aim hacking, but not both. This change suggests Valve might be working on further improvements to the game’s anti-cheat system.

FPS Display Fix and the Return of cl_bob

Many players had noticed discrepancies between the FPS displayed in the Steam overlay and the in-game overlay. Fletcher D confirmed that the in-game FPS was showing the wrong value. However, a fix was quickly implemented, and the FPS display should now be accurate.

Moreover, the update saw the return of ‘cl_bob’, a feature that many players had been eagerly awaiting.

Conclusion

The latest CS2 update has brought significant improvements to the game, enhancing the overall gaming experience. From the introduction of the Telemetry setting menu to the return of ‘cl_bob’, each change has been carefully designed to meet the needs of the players and keep the game engaging and enjoyable.
