Linux is turning out to be in a state that makes it a viable alternative to mainstream operating systems, especially if you are out for open-source development. However, on the gaming side, SteamOS is the primary platform to adopt Linux through a compatibility layer; hence, that also leverages the development of the platform.

With the addition of sparse memory support on NVIDIA’s NVK, the gaming experience is undoubtedly going to level up. There’s still more progress on performance and other areas, but this is another step in the right direction for NVK prospects for Linux gamers.
