The ASUS Dual GeForce RTX™ 4070 12GB GDDR6X is powered by NVIDIA DLSS3, ultra-efficient Ada Lovelace arch, and full ray tracing. It features two powerful Axial-tech fans and a 2.56-slot design for broad compatibility.
The 4th Generation Tensor Core offers up to 4x performance with DLSS 3 vs. brute-force rendering. The card also boasts 3rd Generation RT Cores that provide up to 2x ray tracing performance.
ASUS Dual GeForce RTX™ 4070 fuses dynamic thermal performance with broad compatibility. The cooling design uses Asus’s dual fan base model that includes two Axial-tech fans for maximizing airflow to the heatsink — packed into the 26.7 cm long, 2.56-slot card, delivering more power in less space.
When we juxtapose the forthcoming ASUS GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER with its predecessor, the ASUS GeForce RTX 4070 Dual OC, a noticeable difference in size is apparent.
Furthermore, the RTX 4070 SUPER is set to incorporate the novel CEM 5.1 interface. This is an enhancement over the 12VHPWR connector used in previous models, and it aligns with the new ATX 3.1 standard and 12V-2×6 design. This suggests a shift towards more efficient power management in the new model.
In addition to its other attributes, the ASUS GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER Dual is expected to include a backplate that surpasses the dimensions of the PCB.
Given that this model is already more compact than its predecessor, the RTX 4070 Dual, the PCB of the new card is anticipated to be quite small, especially for a card that is priced above $500 US. The backplate is likely to feature labels for a BIOS switch, allowing users to toggle between Performance and Quiet mode profiles. The card is expected to be offered in both OC and non-OC versions, as well as TUF Gaming models.
The model numbers for the TUF Gaming versions are expected to be:
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER is anticipated to be available in two configurations: AD104-350 or AD103-175 SKU (PG141 SKU 335), both featuring 7,168 cores. The GPU is likely to be equipped with 48 MB of L2 cache and maintain the 12 GB GDDR6X memory across a 192-bit bus interface. The RTX 4070 SUPER is expected to have a 20W higher total board power (TBP) than the existing 4070, at 220W.
In terms of performance, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER is projected to be approximately 14% faster than the non-SUPER RTX 4070. The graphics card is also expected to incorporate the new CEM 5.1 Gen5 power connector. Current RTX 4070 graphics cards typically feature either an 8-pin connector or a 12-pin power connector, supplied with an adapter.
Performance expectations for NVIDIA’s RTX 40 SUPER GPUs, based on reference specs, are as follows:
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 SUPER GPU family is set to be unveiled at CES 2024, with a launch expected in the same month. Pricing details have not yet been confirmed to any retailer or partner, and are likely to be finalized at the last minute.
