Nvidia RTX 4090D “Made In China” is Around 6% Slower than the Original 4090

Nvidia’s latest offering, the GeForce RTX 4090D “Made in China”, has been making waves in the tech world. Despite being a cut-down version of the RTX 4090, it has shown impressive performance, coming within just 6% of its more powerful counterpart.

The RTX 4090 “Made in China” packs 14,592 CUDA cores, which is 10% lower than the RTX 4090. The RT and Tensor core counts also took a slight hit, with slightly higher base clocks. Despite these reductions, the RTX 4090D lags behind the RTX 4090 by only 5%. This minor performance difference is quite impressive, considering that Nvidia did scale back the RTX 4090D by a small margin.

The TDP of the RTX 4090 “Made in China” has been reduced from 450W to 425W. However, it’s worth noting that the RTX 4090D does not support overclocking. This could be a potential drawback for users looking to push their GPUs to the limit.
